Greetings from the Virgin Islands! 🙂
Recently finished in November 2018, this container build in the Virgin Islands is very impressive! Alec, the owner and builder, gave us at Container Home Hub the exclusive just for you, our readers.
Donkey Holla is a new, unique shipping container house located in Coral Bay on St John, Virgin Islands. This labor of love is built entirely of steel and tropical hardwood and survived two category 5 hurricanes in September 2018! The shipping container home is in a rare, flat area of the island that is amazingly easy to get to. It is only a short drive from the famous north shore beaches, the east end snorkel spots or from Salt Pond and Lameshur bays to the south.
The space consists of two 20-foot shipping containers, 16 feet apart, with a screened in kitchen/ atrium in the center. Lovely hardwood floors run through the entire space. One container is the bedroom with a queen size bed, bath and gorgeous, private outdoor shower. The other container is set up with a small sectional couch and a 50″ smart TV. Both containers can be closed off from the middle area. The owners love to cook, so the centerpiece of the galley-style kitchen is an eight-foot butcher block island that they modified with a breakfast bar and a stainless drop-in cook top. It is definitely the heart of the space!
The entire house comfortably accommodates 2 guests with 1 bedroom and 1 bath. And guess what? It’s for rent on Airbnb!
So what do you think? Would you stay here?
