Greetings from British Columbia! 🙂
A shipping container is meant to withstand the world’s harshest climates while protecting the most precious cargo. In that spirit, today we at Container Home Hub are showcasing a build in British Columbia; the Black Box Container home.
Offering two separate suites, this shipping container home offers two separate living spaces. A 710 square feet larger BLACK BOX feature joined by the breezeway to the 384 square foot space, BLACK BOX SUITE.
This unique container home is located in breathtaking British Columbia. Designed and built by HONOMOBO, this contemporary design, with Scandinavian furnishings is a beauty! Large floor to ceiling windows, sliding glass doors, and a covered breezeway entrance are perfect for outdoor dining and entertaining.
The first thing that draws the eye about this container home is the large bank of picture windows that adorn the front of both suites. We love how these windows create art from the gorgeous setting. This is one of the most breathtaking things about the interior and the exterior.
The simplicity of the second suite is one of its strongest features. One 20×8 container is more than enough when there is so much to enjoy right outside the door. From the golden hilltops to the rest of the incredible landscape, there is no shortage of beauty to take in.
Both spaces sleep two with the breezeway offering a social space for dining, yoga, getting to know your neighbor, and taking in the view of the South Thompson River on one end and the gorgeous Shuswap Mountain Range on the other. Both BOXES are available to book for a group of 4-5.
The hardwood flooring, combined with the contemporary designer furniture bring a whole new feel to the interior. Not to mention the outstanding view from literally every angle in this container home. There is almost no area that doesn’t have something absolutely stunning to look at.
We love the bar top island that separates that kitchen from the living area. This is a great way to get individual rooms from one big space in a container home. We love the electric cooktop that is perfect for social meal preparation that doesn’t put a lull in the conversation.
The bathrooms are another relentlessly designed feature of this container home. The raw wood ceiling is a fantastic touch that contrasts perfectly with the dark hardwood of the flooring. This is a fantastic way to remind you that the clear, open sky is just on the other side.
The suite is just as awe inspiring with one subtle difference: the large, sliding garage style door that takes up one side of the container home. This is a great way to blur the lines between the inside and the outside. We love the spirit of this feature since the Black Box Container Home is so connected to the landscape that lies outside.
Aside from the awe-inspiring container home, the view overlooks the South Thompson River and Shuswap Mountain range, and frankly, that might be the best part! Situated in a gorgeous desert landscape, this container home is within walking distance to an isolated beach, sandbar river walk, paddle board boat launch, and a variety of hiking trails, local wineries, the prestigious Rivershore Golf Course and Big Horn Golf Course. This location is only a 15 minute drive to downtown Kamloops and 45 minutes to Sun Peaks Resort.
